Born in Osh (Fergana Valley) in 569 AH, Khwaja Qutbuddin received Khirqa from Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Baghdad. He settled in Delhi during the reign of Sultan Shamsuddin Iltutmish, who built the famous Qutb Minar in his honor and revered him as his master. The saint earned the title "Kaki" because dough cakes (Kak) miraculously appeared under his prayer mat to feed the hungry.
