Born in Delhi in 721 AH (1321 CE), Banda Nawaz was the prime disciple of Hazrat Nasiruddin Chirag-e-Dehli. Renowned for mastery in Arabic, Persian, and early Urdu (Dakhini), he authored over one hundred treatises on Sufism, Quranic commentary, and theology. In 1400 CE he migrated to the Deccan upon the invitation of Bahmani Sultan Tajuddin Firoz Shah, making Gulbarga the epicenter of spiritual and literary renaissance in South India.
