Born in Ain Madi (Algeria) in 1737 CE (1150 AH), Sheikh Ahmad Tijani attained spiritual openings in the desert Oasis of Boussemghoun. In 1798 CE he migrated to Fez under the protection of Sultan Moulay Sulayman. He established this Zawiya in the Blida neighborhood where he taught Salawat al-Fatih and compiled Jawahir al-Ma'ani.
